So, my recent post have been a little serious. Cause really, dealing with chronic pain/illness is serious and it causes great challenges to every aspect of the life of those who live with it. But today, let's talk about something more fun! Birthdays and Grandbabies!
This year I became a grandmother or Mimi as I have chosen to be called. Though honestly whatever she decides to call me will be just fine. Becoming a grandparent is quite profound, the love you feel for your own children just explodes exponentially for this little person. My sweet granddaughter is so precious and wonderful and I cherish every moment i get to spend with her. I loved my grandparents dearly, and have sweet memories spending weeks during the summer with them, camping, bringing in the garden with my Paw Paw and Granny Elium, and just relaxing, shopping, watching tv and hanging around the house with my Granny Walker. I hope I have the chance to create sweet memories with my granddaughter, and maybe as bonus, become her friend.
I also turned 56 this year. James and I spent the weekend before my actual birthday visiting part of the east coast of NC. Camping in our Motor home and just celebrating the fact that we are still able to travel, and explore. It may look a bit different than when we were younger, but we can still do it! We were able to explore the Lake Mattamuskeet Wildlife refuge that included a boardwalk through a cypress swamp, we spent time at the Fort Fisher Historic Overlook and visited the Fort Fisher Aquarium Festival of Trees, and got to see the Otters!
So, maybe not the most profound or exciting post, but a real one. A glimpse into my regular, normal life. Which I am truly blessed to to live.
